I have a HP LaserJet 1020, and i bought lots of ink for it, but i just got a new imac, and now i figure out the printer isnt even compatible... so im trying to buy a new printer that uses the same ink, yet compatible with imac, and someone suggested me a Deskjet, are the inks compatible? or do i need to buy more ink...

LaserJet printers don't use ink cartridges, they use toner cartridges. That's a cartridge about 10 inches wide which uses an ultra fine powder to print.

Deskjet printers are inkjet printers, they use ink cartridges or ink tanks which contain a liquid ink.

The two are not interchangeable.

Like the previous person said, laserjet and deskjet are not compatible. But if you want to buy a printer which uses the same cartridges this page will show you a list. Surprisingly, that cartridge even fits a number of Canon laser printers in addition to HP.
