My family and I just got an iMac. When we use the internet, we need tabs... but we never can figure out how to open a new tab, while staying on another page. Help?

Either go to File - New Tab
or hold control/command and T

After that you can double click in the grey space next to a tab to open another one once 2 are opened.

In Safari. if you look at the top where the first page tab is. to the right of that tab place your mouse and just double click on that blank area and it will automatically open another tab. or just hit command+T. thats another way to open tabs in safari.

Press Command and T at the same time, or File > New Tab. You can click on the tabs to switch between them.
