How can I get Microsoft Powerpoint on my Mac?

I have an iMac, and I need to work on my high school project that involves Microsoft Powerpoint. Where or how can I purchase it? If I purchase it and save it, will it be able to run on a PC version of powerpoint at school, if I use something like a flash drive?

You can purchase a trial copy from MS at

http://www.microsoft.com/mac/

Also Users can create multimedia presentations using PowerPoint on both Mac and Windows computers. PowerPoint saves presentations in a ".ppt" or ".pptx" format, accessible by either platform. Mac users can share presentations with colleagues without using conversion utilities. However, for presentations containing mixed media such as graphics, sound files and movie clips, objects must be embedded in a compatible Windows format

The most worrying you have written is Microsoft. That basically means extortionate costs.
Try going to sourceforge and searching for a mac alternative... not to sure if open office is available as for Mac.
If all else fails you'll have to go down the Microsoft for Mac route...
