How can i partiton a hard drive for use with mac and windows files?

Postby staunton23 » Mon Oct 10, 2011 1:46 am

I recently bought a WD 1.5 TB hard drive for backign up files on my windows 7 laptop. However i now wish to backup the files on my imac as well. So i am just wondering if there is a way to partition my hard drive so i can use the mac and windows files simultaneously. If there is a way to do this without having to move and/or delete the files currently on the hard drive this would be ideal but i suppose ill have to deal with it if i cant. Just want to be able to put my windows files and my mac files on the hard drive at the same time.
Thanks!

Make sure the drive is formatted in Fat32 format and you can do this. Mac can read NTFS but no write to it.
