How come everytime I listin to a song on itunes it takes some space away on my harddrive on my imac?

I have a 250gb harddrive on my imac intel i now have 116.27gb now how do i get it back im not using itunes anymore I downloaded the songs from a youtube downloader

Not sure what you mean! Every time you download something it takes up space!

Or do you mean you listen to it 5 time and it takes up 5 times the space? If that's the case I have know idea! A virus maybe.
