How to insert a CD into my apple iMac?

It's the new apple iMac. I know the CD slot is on the right hand side of the monitor but when I push the CD in, nothing happens and it doesn't try and take the CD or anything. How can I actually get the CD to go in?

Have you pushed it over halfway in and it still won't take it?
If not there may be a manufacturing issue and you'll have to have them fix it. Also, at apple.com/ca you can message a professional for help.

In my macbook pro (which is a pile of crap) you push the cd or dvd in until about 1 cm of it is sticking out before the drive actually takes the cd out of your hands.
