Imac has hard removed - can I put in a pc hard drive?

Someone gave me an Imac but they removed the drive first. Can I take a pc hard drive and install it ok or not?

Information & help please.

Sort of. It depends on which iMac and the "PC" drive.

The G3 came with EIDE drives.
The G5 came with SATA drives

You will still need a Mac OS CD to install the operating system.
