Is the Imac g4 still worth it?

Postby holt91 » Mon Nov 15, 2010 10:05 am

I just bought the Imac g4 on Ebay, and am waiting to get it, but I know that it can't run snow leopard because it isn't intel, but anyways it's the 88HMZ one, because I'm only 14 and can't afford a intel mac, but i just can't deal with windows, it is the suckiest cheapest system in the world, lol. anyway, so I wanted to get the Imac g4 just for like maybe 3 or 4 years. but an it still do every day tasks? such as play you tube videos, and are they still fast? and we found a way to put snow leopard on it, there is a way, but it makes it so that apple care and everything won't be able to help me. so, can I still go into the apple store and buy things for my Imac? and still actually say that I have a nice mac? I recently had the emac g4, and decided that I reallllyyyy needed an upgrade.

Side note: my Emac g4 suddenly won't turn on at all, Idk what happened, but it just won't turn on... do you know what it might be?

Lmao a 88 MHz processor. Most processors are dual core at least 2 GHz (2000 MHz) these days. No, your thing probably won't even be able to play YouTube videos. It will be pathetically slow in day to day tasks. Exactly why is Windows the suckiest, cheapest operating system in the world? It's the gold standard for computing. Maybe you should just learn how to use it?

EDIT: A 800MHz processor is still rather slow. You're seriously better off getting a Windows PC instead of a Mac PC.
