Does apple.com charge tax?!?

if it's across state lines then they can't charge the state sales tax, it's something to do with an old dispute between states taxes. If you live in the same state then you will be charged.

If there is an Apple Store in your state, then federal regulations dictate that you must be charged state tax on the purchase.

Thus, any Apple.com purchases made from someone in one of these states must have that specific state tax on the purchase.
