Is reading ebooks bad for my eyes?

I have just bought an iPad and am reading a lot of ebooks on it. I know that watching TV, playing computer games is bad for the eyes because of the screen.. but are even things like reading ebooks and reading news on the web bad for the eyes?

I would be very glad if you could explain me..

And Amazon just announced a new Kindle and it is even better. If you want to get it you better place the order as early as possible, to make sure you get it on the release date. If the first batch sold out, you will need to wait longer for the second batch to arrive.

I don't know how you know that , because it isn't true. The screen isn't at fault. Passing long periods of close work without blinking enough and without breaks is what causes the problem.

Exactly the same problem can happen reading ordinary paper books.

It isn't bad for your eyes, but can cause tiredness and eyestrain when done to excess without breaks.

The screens don't emit anything that can harm the eyes, it's all in how we use them.

You read stuff on your computer/ipad dont you?

The computer will strain your eyes and it sounds like you've been doing a lot of computer reading. A good trick is to blink your eyes periodically while you're at the computer to re-moisten your eyes.
