Do tablets have Word on it?

So I'm pretty well when it comes to technology, I have an iPhone, laptop, iPod, graphic tablets, the whole lot, so I'm not incompetent.
But one thing I'm trying to get my head around are tablets.
Do tablets have word on it, where I can type up documents, etc?
Do you need to be on a plan for them, or are they just a larger iTouch?

I really want to get a tablet that isn't too expensive, where I can watch things, and type in it as if it's a Word document (with bold, italics and underline)?
Would the iPad just be the best option?
What are my options?

well, i can tell that you are an apple user, which is great, and uhm, have you heard of the ipad? xD Ipad and ipad 2 has pages, keynote and numbers on them, which are pretty much MS Office by apple, for ipad. I have them, and they are amazing! There are some PC tablets with word processors, but since you are a Mac User, i would recommend an ipad, it would be most suitable. This is the new age, gooo tablets!!! : )
