Well a NOTEBOOK AND A LAPTOP are basically the same, only the notebook term is the currently the "hip" way way of calling a laptop.
but if you are reffering to a NETBOOK, the answer is simple, its the size.
a netbook is smaller, lesser weight, greater mobility, but being said, it comes with a price.
in order for it to be small some parts have to be remove, the dvdrom, smaller processor, smaller RAM, and no video card.
unlike in a laptop or notebook, its already complete a mobile computer.

if your going to buy an Ipad, i suggest you wait for Motorola's latest 4G pad the XOOM. its much much better than the IPAD

notebooks don't have a cd drive. thats the actual defintion but there are loads of differences such as performance, memory, how many applications it can handle being open at one time etc.

ipad isnt better btw. if you have the money go for a laptop, and you can still by a handy sized laptops though if you're looking for a reli small, easy to carry around with you, choose the notebook

Notebooks have a smaller screen, to start with
And they also are less likely to have a CD drive, unless you're a gamer, that shouldn't be a problem :)
But if you like putting CDs on your computer, then you need to think twice

Notebooks are more portable, too and cheaper!

iPads are very, very portable, but it depends on your budget

It depends on what you want it for, hope this helped :) Xo

Virtually nothing, notebook is a fancy term for laptop. iPads ate extremely useful and I highly recommend it, it will do anything you can do without hurting yourself :)
