Does updating my software on my iPhone remove jailbreak?

I have jailbreak on my iPhone, I wanna remove the jailbreak but keep all my pics and contacts the same as what they are? If I backed up my phone, updated to version 4.3.5, would it keep my contacts and pics? and would it remove the jailbreak? and another thing, if I backed my phone up with a jailbreak on, then i restored, would the jailbreak be back on after the restore or would it only be pics and SMS etc?

Updating removes the jailbreak yes.
No, using a jailbroken iPhone back up will not put the jailbreak back on afterwards.

Firstly, when youve upgraded from an iphone, you realise how much they suck.
If you update, you will lose your jailbreak and they usually have figured out how to stop you jailbreaking your phone again, so you may not be able to do it. If you have jailbroken it, dont update it. A jailbroken iphone is about 10yrs ahead of an updated iphone.

restoring deletes jailbreak even if u hav backedup with a jailbreak. And you copy pics from my computer and later sync them cobtacts can also be back up by outlook express or ibackup contacts from appstore.
