How many kinds of iPhone 4s are there?

I initially thought it was just between 16gb and 32gb, but while browsing in apple's site, I saw in the tech specs that there were two 2g and one 3g network gsm models, so does this mean there are six variations on the iphone4?

The iPhone 4 is only offered in two models - the 16gb and 32gb as you say. Only the original iPhone was 2G, and it's no longer on the market. After that, Apple pushed out the iPhone 3G which is also no longer on the market. Apple then released the iPhone 3GS, which they still sell alongside the iPhone 4 today as a cheaper and lower-end device.

So, in current times, Apple's iPhone lineup is:
iPhone 3GS 8gb
iPhone 4 16gb
iPhone 4 32gb

The iPhone 4 is also offered in CDMA format now on the Verizon network.

" initially thought it was just between 16gb and 32gb,"

that's what there is as far as iPhone 4.

"I saw in the tech specs that there were two 2g and one 3g network "

No.

2G & 3G, as for iPhone and all iPods refers to the generations of the iPod rather than the cellular technology they use. The exception is the iPhone 3G & 3GS which use 3G cell data transmission technology - the original used the slower EDGE network.

There are 4 models of iPhone 4 - 2 for each size (16gb & 32gb); one using CDMA, the other GSM (the original).

The iPhone 4 is NOT a 4G-technology phone.

No. The 2G & 3G are integrated into 1 model. There are only the 16 & 32GB models both of which have 2G & 3G integrated into them.

So its like this (if being literal)
16GB - GSM & CDMA
32GB - GSM & CDMA
