How do I restore my iPhone4 without losing everything?

How do I restore my iPhone4 without losing everything?

Postby tanjiro » Tue Jul 31, 2012 11:06 am

I recently used a docking station to play music from my iPhone4.

Once I removed the iPhone, the "This Accessory is not optimized for this iPhone" message continually appears, and leads me to believe that the phone thinks it's still on the dock.

As well, when I am in iPod mode, there is no volume bar at the bottom of the screen, and no sound comes out of the speakers. If I plug in headphones, there is no sound coming out of the headphones either. Oddly, the alarm function still works.

Is there any way to ammend this without restoring the factory settings?

Thanks,

You can choose to restore it from backup....but if that fails to fix the issue then you'd have to restore it to factory settings, but first make sure everything that you have on the device is also in your itunes library, so that way all you have to do is sync it after restoring it to factory setiings which wipes it out, the syncing will RE copy all your content right back onto the device :)

best way is restoring it, to not lose everything backup then restore. when finish restoring iTunes will ask u if u want to restore for back up after the restore. click continue, your iphone will say restore in progress, when done, you're iphone's stuff will be back and the game progress, messages, emails, calendars, ... will be same as when u dint restore it.
