IPhone 4 help? Deleting message history?

Postby wren » Thu Sep 15, 2011 12:39 am

I just recently bought an iPhone 4 and I am extremely happy with it but recently I have noticed it is storing information I do not wish to be stored. It's probably taking up space as well.

When I am on the main screen then I scroll to the left with my finger a search box comes up. If I type in a name for example, a bunch of old text messages that I have already deleted in the messaging screen appear. You can't click on them, but you can read a bunch of random texts from the search screen.

How do I delete the history in the search bar? Not the internet / safari , google search bar but information that is stored on my phone via search on the main screen? I want to get rid of all the old text messages sent to people in the past as I feel it is taking up space.
