IPhone 4 random "slide to turn off" help?

Postby linley » Thu Aug 25, 2011 9:50 pm

I got my iPhone 4 about a week ago. Last night I was at my friends house and a cup of water was spilt on it. It has one of those silicone cases, so I wiped off the phone but didn't think to take the case off and wipe off all the water. This morning I realized there was a little water stuck between the phone and the case so I wiped it out. Now, the "slide to turn off" keeps randomly appearing on my phone and I have never seen this before. Does anyone know what is wrong? Or how to fix it? And whether it is water damage?

Thanks for your help!

Well there should be a cancel button whenever that pops up. And if not then it's most likely water damage.

Ohk, theres a couple of Things you can try:

1) put your phone in a tuppaware Filled with uncooked rice (raw rice) for like a day or two.. The rice absorbs water

2) use a hair dryer and just try make the water evaporate...?

The rice thing usually works though. I don't know if it works with iPhones, it worked with my old kolos that fell in the pool

Hope that helps :)
