Iphone 4 randomly shuts off, and does not turn back on, unless i put it on the charger, whats this problem?

About 6 months ago i got my iphone 4, now my phone randomly shuts down, and only turns back on, unless its on the charger, my iphone is jail broken, but i don't know if thats got anything to do with it, since its been fine up to now, and i know its not my battrey thats run out, because when i plug it into the charger, it says 80% or something, a soulution will be grealty appreciated.
