Iphone 4 translator app that requires no internet?

Hi i have an iPhone 4 and I've got a house in France and i find it hard to understand the text they have over there i wanted to know if there is an app i can get which can translate it but it doesn't need the internet to work, i know there's an app called word lens that can do Spanish to English using the camera in real time an app like that would be great if it could to it from French to English any know one that does? Any suggestions appreciated thank you.

Wouldnt you have 3G or edge if you were on an iPhone so what's the problem???????
