What does refurbished mean?

I'm interested in an iPhone 4. How different would it be if it was refurbished? It'd work the same right? And its only been out for a little bit and I THINK* refurbished means like, fixed up, old made new right???

It mean that only the software and stuff is made like new but you still have a old IPhone

depends on where you are getting it from... From Apple... its been revamped totally.... from a phone carrier its been returned and put back into a box
