What happens if i update my iphone ?

i have an iphone 3gs and i want to update it to 4.3.3 i guess . if i update will any thing at all be deleted ? 10 points for the best and first answer !!

It should be fine, but back up your phone before updating.

It should be fine, but back up your phone before updating.
If your phone is jailbroken, nothing is guarateed... you might lose programs and such.
but on a standard legit setup, nothing to fear.
