Will Verizon let you use the iphone without a data plan?

Will verizon make it possible to use the iphone without a data plan? Meaning that you would get typical call/text like you would for any old flip phone, but still use the full features of the iphone when wifi was available. I know AT&T didn't let you, does anyone know if verizon will be different?

Verizon requires a data plan with all smart phones. It's non-negotiable.

Not a chance in Hades. No carrier lets you get a smartphone on a contract without a data plan.

You do not need a Data plan. The best scenario is to by a Jailbroken Iphone or other jail broken smartphone to use with your Verizon Plan. If you buy the phone direct from verizon they will force you to buy a data plan!! Best of luck

No all smart phones require data plans, if you don't add it it will be added for you.
