Flashing lights on my bell router?

Postby llwyd » Tue Jul 24, 2012 4:28 pm

Two of the lights on my Bell router/modem are flashing green. The Power and the DSL lights stay on but the "internet" and the "wireless" lights keep flashing. All of a sudden when i was on my computer, i lost connection and i couldn't get on the internet. I restarted windows and it worked again but after 5 minutes i disconnected from the internet. When i clicked Diagnose connection problems it said "DNS server is not responding". Also, my other computer, my smartphone, and my ipod couldn't connect either. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Go to speedtest.net and test your connection to a local server. Run it a few times and if that works OK, purchase WinMTR, just a little .exe utility that will allow you to see how each hop between you and the site you are connecting is responding. Just double click it and put in the url (address) of the site you were on when you were having the issue, and see what it looks like.

Flashing means that data is transferring. It is normal.

Restart your router if it doesnt work :)
