do you have the previous firmware on your pc? if you don't you need to purchase the firmware, i recommend this website http://www.felixbruns.de/iPod/firmware/ , once you purchase your required firmware, go to itunes, go to your device, hold down shift and click restore. a folder will pop up, find the firmware you purchase, click on it and the ipod will restore it to that firmware :)
