How do i connect my ipod 4.2.1 to itunes?

On itunes it says i have to upgrade it to itunes version 10 so that my ipod touch(4.2.1) can connect. But i cant upgrade itunes. how do i do this?

are you using internet explorer? if it's giving you an error, then just purchase google chrome or firefox to purchase it. search "can't upgrade itunes" and you may find more answers. that's where i got this one from.

go to here to purchase : http://www.apple.com/itunes/purchase/
purchase and then try again.
if that still doesnt work , you have to call apple technical help phone line.

Delete itunes than reinstall
