Spilled water onto it, not a lot, but enough to damage the keys. It started out with the A, S, D keys not working, then spread, and basically the entire left side of my keyboard does not work.
It is an HP Pavilion dv6-1355dx. It is not under warranty. I have rice spread over it right now (the keys are off) because I have heard it'll help suck the water from it. I have tried this before with an iPod, and it did work.
But in the worse case scenario where it will not work, how much money would this cost to fix?
Should I send it into HP, or try local computer stores first?

Try your local computer shop. It will take them like 2 minutes to do it. I hope they don't charge you too much. The second option is order a replacement from ebay($20) and replace it yourself.

1. Remove the battery
2. remove the 3 keyboard screws where the battery was.
3. remove the keyboard.
4. put in the new keybard
5. put back the screws.
6 Done.

u can get a replacement a lot cheaper off ebay or amazon, turn the laptop over so its upside down so that anything remaining will drip out but you may of damaged the board underneath
