i dropped my ipod touch 4g in the sink (it was in sleep mode) but i picked it up immediately. i dried it and i just turned it on out of sleep mode and everything was fine, but then i realized that the brightness of the screen was darker on the top and brighter on the bottom. is there anyway that i can fix this? i still have my warranty from apple, but i heard that they do not cover water related damages. i used a low setting on my hairdryer to dry the iPod and i covered my iPod in rice to soak up the water but im not sure if it will work. are there any other methods that i should try?? thanks so much :)

try putting it a bowl or bag of uncooked rice. the rice should absorb the moisture out of the water.

and ya apple's warranty does not cover water damage

I did the same exact thing to my ipod touch two weeks ago!

And my screen is the same exact way as you described yours is.

I took it completely apart, and discovered that the source of the discoloration was due to a stain inside the internal screen, it had been stained. It was a piece of Plexiglas,and i tried to scrub the stain out, with little luck, and when i put it back together the discoloration was still there.

I'm sorry to tell you that it's going to stay that way:(

Yeah, look up the rice method for water-damaged electronics.

Ignore Dab, things like this don't immediately mean that the equipment is broken

if the screen is darker because water broke some of the ligths in the screen ten your screwed but i think its and lcd screen so its probably just water stuck inbetween the screen and the light
