My iPod Touch's screen won't work when I touch it! How do I fix it?

The power button works, and the screen shows the unlock picture, but when I try to slide the unlock slider, NOTHING HAPPENS. I cracked my screen a couple months ago, but nothing wrong has happened until now. I don't want to have to replace my screen because I'm getting an iPhone soon, but I do want my iPod Touch to work untill then. Please Help!

This happens to me a lot, and I don't even have a cracked screen... It can be annoying.
You need to restart the iPod. Hold down the LOCK BUTTON and the HOME BUTTON at.the.same.time! SAME TIME!(: haha and then let it sit awhile. Then hold down the same buttons again, and it will turn back on. It should work now. If you have further issues contact apple by email, or phone. Better yet in store. Go online to the apple store for locations and contact info.
