My iPod touch speaker is crackling?

Postby beldan » Wed Dec 08, 2010 1:15 am

I was using my iPod this morning as normal and was watching a video on my friend's site with headphones in. The vid was of someone playing a song on a piano. I went to my piano to see if I could copy their hand movements to play the song too, so I took out the headphones and I wanted to play it through the speaker at the back. This loud crackling noise (literally, like bacon frying) was what I heard. When I put in the headphones, the sound is coming through like normal.
What's wrong with my iPod?? It's a 2nd gen. and I got it last August. It hasn't had any falls recently, and up to yesterday the speaker was working!
Please tell me :(

My iPod touch speaker is crackling?

That sounds like a blown speaker. Its kinda starting to happen with my ipod touch 2nd gen. The rule with all speakers regardless how loud they get - Do NOT keep them on full volume. No matter how loud they are. There isn't really a fix, I mean you could send it to apple but it'd cost money and time. Sorry, I know this isn't too helpful, but its what happened.
