My iPod Touch is stuck in a reboot loop?

I have an iPod Touch that is stuck in a reboot loop. I want to get it out and don't want to put it int DFU mode to restore. If it's not in the reboot loop, it's stuck in recovery mode. It's a 3rd gen iPod Touch and how can I stop this?
