This is the way I unlocked my 5th generation Ipod nano- it will take 5 mins (not counting the time it will take you to read all of this)!
Firstly go to control panel- appearance and personalisation- folder options- show hidden files or folders- make sure you can see all hidden folders- (tick box option) next apply the settings.
Now plug your Ipod in go to My Computer then click on you Ipod it should show a file named somthing like Ipod control. Click on it. Inside there there should be a screen lock file. Delete It. Unplug your ipod and tu-dah! It's not locked any more. Hope that works.

What, you mean like a pass-code lock for your main screen?

just plug in your ipod, put all your apps and stuff on itunes and restore it, then replace the stuff back
