Question about "Convert Higher bit Rate Songs To 128 KBPS AAC"?

I may have a lot of High Quality songs on my ipod touch & if converting them to 128 KBPS will make extra space should i do it?
Is the quality really noticeable?
Can you find some examples?
Or something that shows me otherwise?
What is iTunes standard bit rate?

i know this is a bad answer, but you can search how to do it on google, and you can find a way to do it ok.
