What should I do with my broken earbuds?

Postby jilliann56 » Mon Jan 24, 2011 11:29 pm

I was trying to listen to music this morning and I realized that the sound in my right ear was missing. I tried the earbuds out on my buddy's iPod and, sure enough, the sound was gone. Any suggestions on what to do with them? They're Sony fashion earbuds, like four years old. And no, I am not deaf in my right ear, you smart alecks.

Thanks in advance.

I made a similar repair after reading hear about removing the coating. It worked for about a week, then I started getting drop outs again. This time I went to the Dollar and bought a donor pair of earbuds. I the cord off the buds. No coating to deal with and they were already tinned. Soldered the new plug and cord onto the good buds and presto! Worked like a charm and easier than all this other hassel.

I'm surprised a pair of ear buds lasted that long. There's probably nothing you can do to fix them. Just throw them out. For new ear buds, I'd recommend a pair of SkullCandy earbuds. They cancel sound, and many of them have a little mic built into the wire!

Take them into a Dealer that sells Sony and see if they can get replacements...If not just get new ones

Throw them away and get a new pair. Headphones aren't expensive.
