I just got an iPod touch for Christmas and I let it charge and when it's done I take it off and it gets low fast, I go on the web with it and listen to music on it all the time. My iPod touch is still new not even a month old. Someone please help? What should I do?

I got an ipod touch 4th gen for Christmas too....(also owning a 2nd gen ipod touch for 2 years also) and the key to preserving battery life is to (after each time your done on the internet) to turn off these in general settings manually.......
Wifi off
Ask to join other networks off
Fetch off
Location services off
VPN off
Push notifications off
and maybe turn down the brightness to the default which is about half of full.
Also power it off fully as opposed to sleep mode.

ALSO POWER IT OFF FULLY AS OPPOSED TO SLEEP MODE

When you use applications, your processor uses a lot more electricity. So, your battery dies faster. Some thing you can do to help your battery life:

1) Turn down your screen brightness
2) Theres a real program on the app store that helps regulate your battery. Making your ipod last longer.
3) Keep it on a charger whenever possible. When at home, keep it plugged into a computer. They also make USB chargers for cars that cost about 15 bucks.

Your battery is practically new. SO its not going to be lasting that long for now. But it will after a while of using it. There are many functions on it that should help you conserve battery life such as the light timing. If you go on apple.com or itunes help it will give you more tips.
