Why is my iPod over capacity?

Why is my iPod over capacity?

Postby ashby13 » Tue Mar 01, 2011 1:20 pm

I updated my iTunes, and when I hooked up my iPod to sync for the first time, it kept giving me error messages. I did a diagnostic and the iPod connected, but now it says I have 10GB of other, which puts me way over my capacity!

I have a 2g 16GB touch, running 3.1.3, and my iTunes version is 10.1.1.4. Before I updated iTunes, everything was fine and I was under capacity. Now all of a sudden I'm over the limit? I don't understand why this is and what the "Other" could be comprised of.

I deleted all of the videos off my iPod, and unchecked a lot of music from the library so it wouldn't sync. Yet my iPod says I have 2.5GB available on it.

Right now, the capacity bar in iTunes reads like this: Music, 8.4GB; Video, 0.06GB; Photos, 0.02GB; Apps, 1.64GB; and Other, 10GB, and that I've gone over capacity by 5.5GB. It won't let me update any of my new music, either.

Any suggestions? I'm baffled and really confused and frustrated.
