Why is my iPod taking so long to restore?

I updated the software on my iPod touch to 4.2 but it is taking forever to restore. Any ideas why?

Well maybe because you have lots of stuff on it, Apps, music etc.

it took my itouch 2 hours...id just wait it out

first double click the main/center button fast then when the apps come up at the bottom hold one app down until it starts shaking then click all the red little buttons at the top keep doing that until they are all gone ......that is all that should help a TON ....................... it does not delete any apps on your ipad or iphone or ipod i swear!!!!!!!!!

try unplugging the ipod then restarting your computer then restoring it again. i have to restart my computer every time i restore my ipod. dont really know why. but it should restore quickly afterward
