If you pay for wifi, does that mean you can go anywhere and still be connected?
Or do you have to connect to other people's? if that is the case i think its useless to have an ipod touch! whats the point if u already have a computer at home? if that is the only place where you are connected on wifi!!

1) If you pay for wifi, does that mean you can go anywhere and still be connected?
ans> you can go anywhere as far as your wifi signal permits. so meaning most likely you will be restricted to your house only.
2) do you have to connect to other people's
ans> yes , once you are out of range from your home wifi , you do need to find someone else wifi that allows you to use.

I guess you meant "paying the phone with internet access and have a Wifii router..."
You can connect to your wifi router anywhere, within about 20-50m (depending on the router)
Further away, you won't connect to your system, but your iPod can search other routers around. If you are close enough, you could connect to another one, but many private ones are protected by password (except public places)

you will be able to use the wifi at home, as well as other places like cafes, Mc Donald's, starbucks etc. you pay for internet for your home. you should have got an iphone on contract with internet. that way you could connect to the internet whenever you want via their Satellite.

What do you mean by paying for WiFi? You don't pay for WiFi you only pay for internet and then buy a router. So yes that means you have to connect to other peoples WiFi. Most places have WiFi now though. There's like Starbucks, McDonalds, and tons more.
Hope this helped!

No.

An iPod Touch does not have 3G capabilities like an iPhone.

You have to use an iPod Touch at your home or at locations that provide real WiFi service.

You cannot expect to have WiFi service everywhere you go.
