What's the difference between NC and NW colors for MAC?

I'm asian, medium skin and currently a NC30. I have a feeling my tone became a bit lighter, but I have no idea what my color should be if it's a shade lighter. So what's the difference between the NC and NW colors for MAC Pro-long Foundation?

NC is a cool and NW is a warm shade.

You actually need to wear the opposite of you skin tone. eg if you have a warm skin tone you should probably use NC, if your skin tone is cool you should probably wear NW. The idea is that it evens up the tone; pinks balance out yellows and vice versa.

It is actually the number in Mac that denoted the lightness/darkness. The smaller the number the lighter the shade. For instance if you wanted to go lighter than NC30 you could try NC20.

Hello, I am a beauty Guru on my friend's site (sandrea26ed)
Yeah NC30 wont probably fit you. NC means that it has orange tones to it. and NW means it's more pink. You need to go with an NW15 or a NW25. that's my guess, If I could see your skin tone, i'd be able to tell for sure, but I think it will be close.
