DVD drive stopped working on Macbook Pro, help?

Postby baudoin » Thu Mar 03, 2011 1:18 am

I just recently bought a new MacBook Pro for college (last August) and about a week ago my DVD player stopped working for no reason. Whenever I would put a DVD in my computer an error message would pop up saying that my DVD player had an error. So I uninstalled the DVD player and used the recovery disks that came with my computer in hopes that it would reinstall the DVD player, but it was unsuccessful. So then I went online and purchase a DVD driver for Mac but it was out of date and my Mac couldn't use it!

Can someone please help me! I'm in college and my computer is my only means of watching movies. I've been using Netflix instant a lot, but it's just not the same, they don't have very many instant options for me. I would appreciate if someone could direct me to a site where I could purchase a driver for my mac.

Thanks for everything!
