How do I sign out of Mail on MacBook Pro?

How do I sign out of Mail on MacBook Pro?

Postby rook » Wed Sep 21, 2011 1:16 am

I was just playing around with it and signed in, but now I can't figure out how to sign out.
I know Apple + Q exits it, but when you reopen the app it signs in for you.
And I deleted my password in the preferences, but even when it's offline you can still see previous e-mails.
This wouldn't really be a problem, but my whole family shares a computer so I would rather have my mail be secure.
Help?

If you only have one user account for everyone in the family on your mac, Mail is not going to give you the level of security you want, you are better off to use a web-based mail service such as Yahoo where you log in and log out.

If you create separate user accounts for each person in the family you will be able to use Mail as it will only display the information for the family member logged in. The logging in and out is then done at user level. You can even set up fast user switching which will leave other users logged in but idle in the background.
