How to fix the volume on my Mac?

Postby weatherly » Sun Jun 13, 2010 1:34 am

All of a sudden, the volume on my new basic Macbook is not working. I can't hear anything at all. I have turned the volume all the way up using both the keyboard and the volume scale on the control panel. Still I can't hear any system noises, my itunes, my browser, nothing.

Anyone know what's wrong? Thank you!

Did you try restarting it? That's happened before to my lame computer, and it worked.

This will work as we do it all the time reset the PRAM http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1379 I do this yet I hold it down until it chimes Three times.

Resetting PRAM and NVRAM

1. Shut down the computer.
2. Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
3. Turn on the computer.
4. Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
5. Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
6. Release the keys.

If this doesn't do it for you please email or post an update
