How to get "System Preferences" application back on my Macbook Pro?

I honestly don't know what happened, maybe I accidentally deleted it or it just went away, but I no longer have the "System Preferences" on my macbook pro. Basically I can't change my background for my laptop, track-pad sensitivity, anything like that. ANyone know how to get it back?

You mean that it is not on your dock. You cannot delete System Preferences. You probably accidently dragged it out of the dock, which is how you remove stuff from your dock.

Click the Apple on the top left of the screen and scroll to System Preferences. System Prefences will open. To keep it in the the dock, control-click on it on the dock and go to Options and click on "Keep in Dock"
