So basically what happened was that I dropped my macbook pro the beginning of this year and it severely cracked the bottom right screen and the bottom screws holding the screen broke so the underneath of the macbook is exposed. And just recently it won't startup anymore as it now will turn on and go to the loadup screen with the apple logo then shutoff.

So can anyone tell me a estimate of the total repairs it will cost me to repair my laptop? The warranty on the macbook pro won't cover the repairs because of how it was damaged and I have no proof of purchase for it.

Any help would be much appreciated, I am very worried on what to do.

You have no choice in the matter. You take it to the Apple store and ask.

You need Apple part # 661-3997. That part cost $189 without labor. The labor part will be $50-$100. Have a repair tech not working for apple or contracted by apple repair it for you. You could repair it yourself too.

Costs of notebook PC repairs can be costly depending on where you take it. Especially when it comes to Mac's. I would estimate that it would cost around $100-200 to get repaired between parts and labor, though this is a rough estimate and should be researched further.

Well, I'm sorry but we can not see the exact damage so we can not give you a close cost to what it will be,

and computerguy, those things are over $2000 for the 17". He'd be crazy to get a new one unless he was wealthy, didn't care about what was on it, or the computer was old.

It sounds like it's pretty much destroyed. Take it in to the Apple Store, see if they can fix it. If not, you're going to have to replace it.

at least $300 - 400 .. but i dont think its worth to fix it.. u might wanna get a new one instead
