Will I lose all my files if I upgrade to OS X Lion from OS X Snow Leopard?

I bought my Macbook Pro last September. I'm eligible to upgrade from Snow Leopard to Lion when it comes out. I fit all the requirements. However, I'm still a Mac noob. Will I lose files if I upgrade from Snow Leopard to Lion? Is it like Windows that I have to 'reformat' my laptop? Thanks for any helpful answers.

You won't lose any of your apps, games, photos, videos or any other settings on your computer while upgrading to Lion.

Well I'm no Mac expert but Apple probably made it that it wouldn't happen that way so no it probably won't so just backup your files before doing it and you'll be fine.

No you won't lose ANYTHING at all. All your settings, apps, photos etc remain at place and you don't need to format it. Upgrade will seamlessly take in place and will preserve everything. Unlike Windows you don't need to do anything either before or after the upgrade, your Mac will just work the way you would except to
